Union fun

Why is it that union representatives inevitably seem more prepared for the camera and more genuine than Democratic politicians putatively trying to represent the same values? Screw media training; recruit these guys as candidates. You talk about what you stand for and why. Is that so fucking hard?

I'm looking at you, Barack.

The Green Party consistently nominates labor leaders.

I can't imagine why Dems are afraid of running smart, down-to-earth labor activists who talk persuasively about health care, class, and collective power. *coughfortyyearsofrightwingpropagandacough*

While I don't have as much against the Greens as many liberals, they're functionally pretty irrelevant in most places most of the time. I'm a registered Democrat largely because in New York the primary is the only election that matters.

That's the same reason I changed my registration from Dem to Green, but that doesn't mean we can't vote Green when it counts.

I am genuinely bummed that McCourt/Duncan missed the 50,000 mark by a measly 10,000 votes.

The Greens can make a difference on school boards and little tiny local offices, and that result makes it that much harder for them to get on the ballot.
