Every Rambo Needs His Ho

I love the things that get folks upset. Moon of Alabama amusingly rants about the fact that the U.S. Department of Defense is for the first time criminalizing soldiers' use of prostitutes. As Bama puts it,

when the U.S. military does not allow homosexual behavior, does not allow intergender relations between lots of male and few female troopers and now prohibits visiting prostitutes, the aggression will look for other ways out.

He believes it will lead to "semenpaddy" (what I've always called "roid rage"), that annoying aggression young men quickly develop when they're not getting any.

I can relate (a celibate Solomon Grundy is a very cranky Solomon Grundy), but the solution seems so obvious:

Self love.

Try it, Bama. It'll calm you right down, and quick.

OMG, you DO have a wicked sense of humor! And you know what? Those guys may not be authorized porn (which does NOT stop them from procuring it), but they ARE allowed "sexual aids."

And I hear ya about the celibacy/crankiness thing. I find that the length of time without sex is directly proportional to the growth in my grumpy ass attitude.

Well I would not want to wash the sheets of the US army in due time...
But I guess the problem behind the laughing point is teh abuse of US soldiers of vulnerable women in the countries they are serving in. Maybe they will now get free pornographic access of porn made in the USA. That should still the semenpaddy and is patriotic at the same time ;-)

They're not even authorized porn? That is truly insane.

And Daniel, yeah, you're probably right that it's a good thing they're not exploiting local women. Although... I'm a 2nd-generation product of a, um, dangerous liaison between an officer and a young Irish girl when he had a weekend off back in WWII... Maybe it's healthy to mix up the global gene pool...
