Bush's Top Environmental Scientist? Michael Crichton
Maybe I'm just giddy from my lunchtime coffee, but I find the following hilarious. According to the LA Times review of right-wing nutjob Fred Barnes' new Bush bio,
"Barnes reports that the president fundamentally doesn't accept the theory of global warming and was reinforced in that belief by a private meeting not with any scientist but rather with novelist Michael Crichton, whose novel "State of Fear" revolves around the issue."
Michael Crichton? Michael Crichton, the mind behind Jurassic Park and Twister? Who is Bush's in-house surgeon, George Clooney? Who does he go to for theological advice, the cast of Nunsense?

Hilariously depressing, maybe. Three more years of this self-righteous simpleton. You can substitute anybody for Michael Crichton on any issue, so long as that person agrees with what he's already decided to think. I don't think we've ever had a President so immune to persuasion, legitimate or not.

Why would he need persuasion, when he has never made a mistake?
